The honest comparison is at a fixed client count, because both tools charge by it. These are monthly prices, base plan only, before any add-ons.

Trainerize publishes Pro at 5 and 50 clients and shows the tiers between on a slider. TrueCoach has no public price above 50 clients.
How each one limits clients
Trainerize sells seats in tiers. When you pass the tier you move to the next one, and the tiers are close together at the bottom (1, 2, 5, 15, 30) and wide at the top (50, 75, 100, 200, 500). Most working trainers sit in Pro 15 to Pro 50.
TrueCoach has three caps: 5, 20 and 50. The jump from Standard to Pro is the one that hurts. Client 21 costs an extra $79 a month, and you then carry seats you may not fill until you are near 50.
Onyx Coach has no cap. Pro and Elite both include unlimited clients; the only difference between them is the number of premium client slots that switch on the AI features for the clients you choose.

Trainerize gives 30 days with unlimited clients and no card. TrueCoach gives 14 days with no card, and its annual plans carry a 90-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers. Onyx gives 14 days with no card; if you do nothing at the end of the trial, nothing is charged.
Annual billing takes 10% off Trainerize. On TrueCoach it is one month free on Starter and two months free on Standard and Pro.
Which one, then
Pick Trainerize if you run an online coaching business with nutrition, products and a branded app, and you are fine paying for each of those on top of the base tier. It is the most complete of the three.
Pick TrueCoach if you coach a stable roster under 20 online, want wearable data and Zapier flows, and prefer a simpler tool without an add-on menu.
Pick Onyx Coach if you coach in the gym as well as online and want the session logged live while you stand next to the client, with one price that does not move when your roster does. At 20 clients it is €29 against $57.99 on TrueCoach; at 50 it is €29 against about $135 on either of the others.
